With the belief that recreation is a vital part of a balanced lifestyle, your Recreation Committee, in accordance with the policies and procedures of Unifor National and Local 5555, will endeavor to:
- Plan recreational, social, leisure and entertainment events and activities that are of interest to Unifor 5555 members.
- Actively promote participation in these events.
- Plan events in conjunction with other Unifor Locals, where possible.
- Adopt the practices of good sportsmanship and inclusiveness in everything we do.

Unifor Local 5555 October Floral Workshops
Back by popular demand, we are holding additional floral workshops. Nancy of Nancy Elliott Floral Design will be back with the perfect Autumn arrangements to bring in the brisk new season. Nancy is a local floral designer and a graduate of Mohawk College’s Floral Design Program. She has a studio in Ancaster where she makes floral arrangements for weddings and events.
In this hands-on workshop, you will be designing a seasonal arrangement for your home. All supplies will be provided. Nancy will be there to assist you as well.

We have limited spots on-site and additional street parking around the hall.
Cost
The cost to participate is $15.00 which includes all supplies. The local has subsidized half the original cost. (Please note: In the future, prices may rise due to ongoing tariffs and supply cost increase.)
Changes to Registration
- We will no longer keep a waitlist for the floral workshops.
- Spots will be chosen through a lottery/name wheel.
- If you have participated in a floral workshop in the past, we will go through new participants first and then offer spots to those who have already participated.
Please Note
We have also scheduled two floral arrangement workshops for December and will send more information and open registration in November.
If you have garden shears, please bring them with you to use. Given the large class size, we may run out of garden shears to borrow.

Please fill out the registration form below no later than 12:00 pm (noon) on Friday September 26, 2025.

Forge FC vs. Vancouver FC - Unifor Local 5555
Unifor Local 5555 Forge FC Game
This year’s game is Saturday October 4th against Vancouver FC.
We have a block of discount tickets we are offering at $34.00 per ticket including taxes and fees. The game starts at 4:30pm at the Hamilton Field (formerly Tim Horton’s field)
There is a maximum request of six (6) tickets per Unifor 5555 member
This year tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis. The DEADLINE to reserve tickets is 12:00 p.m. September 15th Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you reserve your tickets if you are unsure if you are able to go. Once the tickets have been assigned on a first come, first served basis, you will be placed on a wait list. We will send details about payment information or your place on the waitlist after registration closes.
Payment of ticket(s) must be completed no later than 12:00 p.m. Friday September 19th, 2025. E-transfer of funds is the preferred method of payment, however cash will also be accepted. If you need to pay with cash, please make arrangements with Ashley Shinde: recreation@unifor5555.ca

Unifor Local 5555 Blue Jays Game
We are so excited to announce that Unifor Local 5555’s Blue Jays Game is back for the first time since 2019!!
Date: Saturday September 13, 2025
Please do not start the ticket reservation survey until you know exactly how many tickets you will be purchasing. Tickets are strictly limited to 4 per member. If you need more tickets for a larger family, please reach out to us:(recreation@unifor5555.ca) Exceptions may be able to be made on a case by case basis. The total number of tickets for this game are limited and will be assigned to members who reserve them on a first come, first served basis. You will be contacted the week of August 11 with payment details OR your placement on the wait list.
Details on the bus pick-up and drop off location are to be determined. We will leave the pick-up location at ~1pm. We will likely choose Limeridge Mall as it is centrally located and has ample parking. We will confirm the bus details closer to the date. You are not required to take the bus, so please also reserve the number of seats on the bus that your group will need on the ticket reservation form.
Once tickets are reserved, they are non-refundable. Please DO NOT reserve tickets if you are unsure about attending as you will be expected to pay for the tickets regardless.
NO ADDITIONAL TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AFTER THE RESERVATION SYSTEM CLOSES. PLEASE PURCHASE YOUR TICKET BEFORE THE DEADLINE OF FRIDAY AUGUST 8TH AT 12:00PM.
