Unifor 5555 has a number of Standing Committees active within our Local. Any member is welcome to join whichever committee aligns with their interests. For more information about the various committees themselves, visit their pages. If you are interested in joining one of the committees, either contact the Chair of the committee, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Education Committee facilitates the numerous education opportunities available for our members.
ONLINE WEBINARS during COVID-19
These are free on-line webinars being offered to Unifor Members. You do not have to apply like for PEL or Area School courses, but you do have to RSVP. The link to do so can be found on the course page.
To educate members on key issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Unifor’s Education Department will host a series of webinars on health and safety, the government’s Canada Emergency Response Benefit, and mental health. Unifor remains committed to providing members with assistance and support as information and circumstances change by the hour. By participating in the Education Department’s webinar sessions, members can engage with experts and get answers to urgent questions as quickly and effectively as possible.
Open to Unifor members 35 years old and under.
***All Courses and Conferences at the Port Elgin Family Education Centre have been cancelled through to September. We fully anticipate that courses will be up and running again as soon as it is safe to do so.
