On April 13th 2024, the Workers Arts and Heritage Centre (WAHC) will once again be hosting Roll Up Your Sleeves, a denim-themed fundraiser celebrating art, history, and community at Hamilton’s historic Custom House, our home for nearly 30 years.
The evening will invite guests to tour WAHC’s current exhibitions including Declaration, In Our Hands, and Work In Progress, our interactive exhibit redesign project. Guests can also explore our brand new virtual exhibition of labour union banners, All Together Now!, launched in January with support from Canadian Heritage.
There will be musical entertainment, snacks and beverages from beloved local businesses, as well as a hands-on craft component facilitated by a local artist. All attendees will receive a small token upon arrival as a souvenir of the event as well.
We invite our friends and allies to put on their finest Canadian Tuxedo in honour of the fabric cherished by workers throughout history. This event will benefit WAHC’s important mission to celebrate, share, and preserve working people’s art, culture, and history through exhibitions, educational programs, guided tours, online exhibits and events in partnership with unions and community groups. We will also be launching our new Membership Program which will be integral to the long-term sustainability of WAHC.
The local has purchased two tickets to this event that we will be raffling off to one of our members. If you are interested, please fill out the entry form below. The deadline to enter is Thursday 4 April 2024.
