The local’s Women’s Committee has organized a school supply drive at our Union Hall on August 16, 2025 between the hours of 1-4pm at 86 Hester St. (Unifor Local 5555 Union Hall). We will be providing complimentary realfruity ice cream (non-dairy options, too!) to all members and their families who participate in the drive. We are not accepting e-transfer donations for this initiative, but we will accept cash donations or new school supplies. If you would like to donate directly to the Eva Rothwell Centre, please follow this link to their donation page: Donate to Eva Rothwell
If you aren’t able to make it to the drive on Saturday, but would like to donate, you can drop off school supplies to the campus Unifor office (Gilmour Hall B111) on Thursday August 14 between the hours of 9am and 4:30pm.
We hope to see you on Saturday for a lovely afternoon of community outreach and delicious ice cream.
All school supplies collected at the drive will be donated to the Eva Rothwell Centre on August 18, 2025 in time for distribution for the upcoming school year.
Eva Rothwell would benefit from a wide range of school supplies, however, the basic supplies for elementary/high school students are what they are looking for. Such as:
- scissors
- glue sticks
- scientific calculators
- pens
- pencils
- markers
- pencil crayons
- lined paper
- duotangs
- lunch bags
- pencil cases
- rulers
- white out
- highlighters
- etc.
If you are not able to attend the drive, but would like to donate, please email sarah-kai.antanaitis@unifor5555.ca to make alternative arrangements. Please keep in mind that we cannot accept donations after August 16.
