We know this continues to be a challenging time for you. Unfortunately, the continuing state of emergency will keep Legion Branch 163 closed. We know there is concern about when they will be able to re-open and what that will look like for them long term. We hope you have all been successful in being able to apply for EI benefits, though we know the wait times are significant as the huge influx of applications are being processed. Our understanding is that those of you who have already applied to EI will be automatically transferred to the CERB (Canada Emergency Response Benefit) without you having to do anything on your end, and that this would also apply to EI applications already received, but not yet processed. If you have any questions relating to your EI application the best resource is Service Canada.
You can call the EI telephone information service at 1-800-206-7218 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday and press “0” to talk to a representative. Please note that call volumes are high at the present time and you may be placed on hold.
