COVID-19 Update March 19th

Posted in Unifor 5555

We know that the situation we are facing is a challenging one.  The University’s steps to maintain essential services, ensure students complete their academic year while balancing campus safety will impact every member differently depending on where they work and what job it is that they do.

Your Union has been keeping in regular contact with the University as the situation develops and is working to ensure our members rights, and safety, are protected.

If you have questions you are encouraged to reach out to your Unit Chair.  We are also asking for your patience as we are getting a lot of questions right now, and are endeavoring to respond as quickly as possible.

You can also reach out to Beth Couchman, President, beth.couchman@unifor5555.ca or Emily Heikoop, Vice-President, emily.heikoop@unifor5555.ca if you have any questions.

We will continue to stay in contact with the University as this situation develops and we will update you with any information we can share, but please understand, the University is making the decisions on how they will be dealing with this pandemic, our role as the Union is to ensure the collective agreements are being followed.
